The Director Of Sales oversees all aspects of the Sales Department, including staff management, advertising inventory throughout all channels, revenue goal setting and achievement, and budgeting. The Director Of Sales also has direct responsibility for national sales efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership for the broadcast/web sales teams.
  • Makes decisions regarding hiring, evaluation, promotion and termination of employees.
  • Develops and executes sales strategies which result in exceeding revenue targets in local, national, Digital Media and new product revenue. 
  • Drives new business development
  • Creates projects and sponsorships to develop new business and added revenue from existing customers.
  • Manages inventory and revenue forecasting.
  • Manages recruitment and development of talented sales professionals.
  • Prepares budgets and approves budget expenditures.
  • Resolves customer complaints regarding sales and service.
  • Plans and directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and service programs.
  • Determines inventory, pricing and discount rates.
  • Creates and reviews operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability.
  • Directs the Accounts Receivable efforts of the Sales Department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Minimum five years' experience in media sales.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Experience guiding, directing and motivating subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Experience establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them.
  • Ability to identify the developmental needs of others and to coach, mentor or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with these applications preferred: OSi, Strata, Rentrak, Matrix

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The Director Of Sales must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work in close proximity to others, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.

Position Summary:

Requirements and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required.
  • Minimum two years' experience in news reporting.
  • Superior on-air presence.

P/T Associate Producer

Join our growing morning team! If you're an early riser, like to work hard, have fun, and are looking for your break into TV news, this just might be the job for you.

The Associate News Producer edits video, writes scripts, writes stories for web, greets guests, and generally assists anchors, reporters and producers in newscast production.

Local 22 & Local 44 produces four hours of news in the morning, so there is never a dull moment! The perfect candidate must have a proven track record of dependability and initiative. Previous newsroom experience and/or a degree (or degree-in-progress) is a plus! This is a part-time position, Monday-Friday, 3am-8am, with some opportunity for extra hours and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·     Provides support to personnel producing newscasts for broadcast across all platforms.

·     Assists with writing scripts and preparing news stories.

·     Edits video.

·     Writes stories for the website and other eMedia platforms.

·     Interacts with viewers/users on social media sites.

·     Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements and Skills:

·     High school diploma.

·     Fluency in English.

·     Minimum one year's experience in news story production.

·     Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

·     Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.

·     Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

In addition, Associate News Producer must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.

The Account Executive works within established Sales Department guidelines to increase sales volume with assigned accounts, aggressively seeks new customers for both TV and eMedia business, executes plans and strategies set forth by sales management, maintains awareness of the competition, and maintains visibility in the community.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Implements strategies to consistently grow revenue and exceed revenue goals.
  • Establishes credible relationships with local business community.
  • Makes sales calls on existing and prospective clients.
  • Maintains assigned accounts and develops new accounts.
  • Prepares and delivers sales presentations to clients.
  • Explains to customers how specific types of advertising will help promote their products or services in the most effective way possible.
  • Provides clients with information regarding rates for advertising placement in all media.

  • Works with clients and station personnel to develop advertisements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
