Position Summary:

The News Anchor serves as the primary presenter of news stories and other content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to news consumers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Presents news stories and other content for all platforms.
- Ensures that all news content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
- Writes and delivers news stories in a clear and concise manner.
- Produces newscasts and communicates clear direction with team members.
- Assists in writing, copy editing, researching and coordinating news programming and other content.
- Acts as a field reporter as assigned.
- Conducts interviews with news personnel and others.
- Responds to breaking news and other urgent newsrooms situations as required.
- Participates in promotional activities including public appearances.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Edits video clips as assigned.
- Writes content for the website and other eMedia platforms.
- Interacts with viewers/users on social media sites.

Requirements & Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
- Fluency in English.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required.
- Minimum five years' experience in news reporting or anchoring.
- Superior on-air presence.
- Excellent news judgment with an expansive knowledge of local and national current events, history, newsmakers and issues.
- Experience guiding, directing and motivating others.
- Ability to identify the developmental needs of others and to coach, mentor or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills.
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to effectively listen to fully understand problems and communicate with a team to shape a solution.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Flexibility to work any shift.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

The News Anchor must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work in close proximity to others, work outdoors occasionally in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. In addition the News Anchor must be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.

The Executive News Producer produces daily newscast items, approves scripts, writes teases and other content, times news programs, edits video, and posts video to the website.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Produces newscasts for broadcast across all platforms.
- Approves scripts.
- Edits video.
- Critiques newscasts to correct errors, improve coverage and provide mentoring feedback to news staff.
- Assists with training of new producers.
- Assists News Director with developing news coverage strategy, and making sure coverage fits that strategy.
- Writes stories for the website and other eMedia platforms.
- Interacts with viewers and users on social media sites. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
- Fluency in English. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Minimum two years' experience as a news producer.
- Attention to detail, with ability to proofread, copy edit, and communicate corrections with news staff.
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work any shift.

The Reporter collects, analyzes and presents facts about newsworthy events by interview, investigation or observation for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to news consumers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:   

-     Reports news stories for broadcast, describing the background and details of events.
-    Arranges interviews with people who can provide information about stories.
-    Reviews copy and corrects errors in content, grammar and punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines.
-    Reviews and evaluates notes taken about event aspects in order to isolate pertinent facts and details.
-    Determines a story?s emphasis, length and format, and organizes material accordingly.
-    Researches and analyzes background information related to news stories in order to be able to provide complete and accurate information.
-    Gathers information about events through research, interviews, experience or attendance at political, news, sports, artistic, social or other functions.
-    Pitches stories to news managers and news producers which are relevant to the local community.
-    Receives assignments and evaluates leads and tips to develop story ideas.
-    Discusses issues with producers and/or news managers to establish priorities or positions.
-    Checks reference materials such as books, news files or public records to obtain relevant facts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Greets and provides customer service to visitors.
- Answers and routes telephone calls.
- Takes phone messages for other personnel.
- Accepts packages from couriers and prepares packages for shipment.
- Performs clerical functions for the General Manager and Sales Department as needed.
- Prepares forms and reports.  Makes copies when necessary.
- Enters order, traffic and accounting data using computers, ledgers, orders and other resources.
- Maintains awareness of the most current broadcast traffic policies, practices and procedures.
- Maintains files and other business records
- Coordinates station or marketing events
- Runs errands for station on occasion.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Skills:

- High School diploma required, college degree preferred
- Fluency in English.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Organized, detail oriented and able to multi-task.
- Minimum two year's experience in clerical support or administrative assistance, preferably in the sales    or media fields.
