The Director Of Sales oversees all aspects of the Sales Department, including staff management, advertising inventory throughout all channels, revenue goal setting and achievement, and budgeting. The Director Of Sales also has direct responsibility for national sales efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership for the broadcast/web sales teams.
  • Makes decisions regarding hiring, evaluation, promotion and termination of employees.
  • Develops and executes sales strategies which result in exceeding revenue targets in local, national, Digital Media and new product revenue. 
  • Drives new business development
  • Creates projects and sponsorships to develop new business and added revenue from existing customers.
  • Manages inventory and revenue forecasting.
  • Manages recruitment and development of talented sales professionals.
  • Prepares budgets and approves budget expenditures.
  • Resolves customer complaints regarding sales and service.
  • Plans and directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and service programs.
  • Determines inventory, pricing and discount rates.
  • Creates and reviews operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability.
  • Directs the Accounts Receivable efforts of the Sales Department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Minimum five years' experience in media sales.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Experience guiding, directing and motivating subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Experience establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them.
  • Ability to identify the developmental needs of others and to coach, mentor or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills.

Photographer/Director


Local 44 WFFF-TV and Local 22 WVNY-TV in Burlington, Vermont, has an immediate opening for a Photographer and backup Director.


The Photographer will be responsible for executing live shots using microwave, satellite, or TVU technology. The candidate will often one-man-band to gather news content, as well as shoot alongside a reporter on a regular basis. The Photographer should be proficient in shot composition and lighting, and digital editing. We shoot on both Panasonic and JVC cameras.


This position will also train to serve as a backup to our newscast Technical Directors, coordinating the efforts of all technical operators during newscasts and other live and recorded productions. We have a brand-new studio and graphics, and an upgraded Ignite production system.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Shoots video for news reports.
  • Sets up, composes and executes video shots.
  • Maintains video equipment.
  • Edits for newscasts using Edius software.
  • Operates live microwave and satellite trucks in remote situations
  • Observes pictures through monitors, and uses robotic cameras to adjust composition.
  • Acts as a liaison between engineering and production departments.
  • Works with the news producers to deliver a clean and high energy newscast.
  • Switches video sources during live broadcasts.
  • Tests equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Requirements & Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Morning Meteorologist

The ideal candidate will have experience and a passion for forecasting weather in New England for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to viewers. The Morning Meteorologist will bring energy and creativity to four hours of news programming, as you help viewers prepare for the day and week ahead. The Morning Meteorologist will aggressively utilize our weather system to inform viewers during severe weather both on-air and online. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Produces and presents weather reports for all platforms.
  • Ensures that all weather content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.

  • Field report during special events or severe weather as needed.
