Associate News  Producer

The Associate News Producer edits video and assists anchors, reporters and producers in newscast production.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides support to personnel producing newscasts for broadcast across all platforms.
  • Assists with writing scripts and preparing news stories.
  • Edits video.
  • Writes stories for the website and other eMedia platforms.
  • Interacts with viewers/users on social media sites.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements & Skills:

  • High school diploma.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Minimum one year's experience in news story production.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to work any shift.


Physical Demands & Work Environment:

The Associate News Producer must be able to stand, sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work in close proximity to others, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. In addition, Associate News Producer must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.

Account Executive (Sales)


Needed Immediately

The Account Executive works within established Sales Department guidelines to increase sales volume with assigned accounts, aggressively seeks new customers for both TV and eMedia business, executes plans and strategies set forth by sales management, maintains awareness of the competition, and maintains visibility in the community.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Implements strategies to consistently grow revenue and exceed revenue goals.
  • Establishes credible relationships with local business community.
  • Makes sales calls on existing and prospective clients.
  • Maintains assigned accounts and develops new accounts.
  • Prepares and delivers sales presentations to clients.
  • Explains to customers how specific types of advertising will help promote their products or services in the most effective way possible.
  • Provides clients with information regarding rates for advertising placement in all media.
  • Develops advertising schedules with clients and station personnel responsible for placing advertising into station media.
  • Works with clients and station personnel to develop advertisements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Minimum one year's experience in sales, preferably in the media field.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Experience achieving long-range objectives and implementing the strategies and actions to achieve them.
  • Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.

Sports Director


Position Summary:

FOX44/ABC22 in the beautiful Champlain Valley is looking for a Sports Director to lead our 2-person sports team. If you want to fill your sportscasts with highlights from pro teams, this job is NOT for you! We are all about LOCAL sports. We care about high schools and area colleges, and find fun feature stories to engage our viewers. The ideal candidate will immerse themselves in the community, make public appearances, and be a champion for our news brand. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Produces and presents sports reports for all platforms.
  • Ensures that all sports content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
  • Works closely with the News Director to ensure sports coverage fits with the news brand.
  • Assists in writing, copy editing, researching and coordinating sports programming and other content.
  • Creates weekly sports department coverage plan, and maintains staff schedules.
  • Creates and executes long-term sports coverage plan, including season and team preview specials, and coverage of special events.
  • Responds to breaking sports events and other urgent newsroom situations as required.
  • Participates in promotional activities including public appearances.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Shoots video for sports reports.
  • Sets up, composes and execute live shots using TVU backpack.
  • Maintains video equipment.
  • Edits video clips for television broadcasts and eMedia content.
  • Writes stories for the website and other eMedia platforms.
  • Interacts with viewers and users on social media sites.



Requirements & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of sports and sports related activities.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required.
  • Minimum five years' experience in sports reporting or anchoring.
  • Superior on-air presence.
  • Experience guiding, directing and motivating others.
  • Ability to identify the developmental needs of others and to coach, mentor or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to effectively listen to fully understand problems and communicate with a team to shape a solution.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Flexibility to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.

The Sports Director must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work in close proximity to others, work outdoors occasionally in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. In addition, the Sports Director must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.

News Photographer

FOX44/ABC22 in the beautiful Champlain Valley has an immediate opening for a creative photographer to join our team of journalists. Depending on the day, the News Photographer will either work solo or with a reporter, and then set up and execute a live shot. We are looking for a Photographer who can not only shoot a creative special report with lots of visuals and sound breaks, but also make an every-day news conference look great!


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Shoots video for news reports.
  • Confers with other personnel to discuss assignments, logistics and shot requirements.
  • Sets up, composes and executes video shots.
  • Maintains video equipment.
  • Edits video clips for television broadcasts and eMedia content.
  • Operates live microwave and satellite trucks and TVU backpack in remote situations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements & Skills:

  • High school diploma. Degree in Photojournalism or Broadcasting preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Minimum two years` experience operating video recording equipment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to work any shift
