The Director Of Sales oversees all aspects of the Sales Department, including staff management, advertising inventory throughout all channels, revenue goal setting and achievement, and budgeting. The Director Of Sales also has direct responsibility for national sales efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership for the broadcast/web sales teams.
  • Makes decisions regarding hiring, evaluation, promotion and termination of employees.
  • Develops and executes sales strategies which result in exceeding revenue targets in local, national, Digital Media and new product revenue. 
  • Drives new business development
  • Creates projects and sponsorships to develop new business and added revenue from existing customers.
  • Manages inventory and revenue forecasting.
  • Manages recruitment and development of talented sales professionals.
  • Prepares budgets and approves budget expenditures.
  • Resolves customer complaints regarding sales and service.
  • Plans and directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and service programs.
  • Determines inventory, pricing and discount rates.
  • Creates and reviews operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability.
  • Directs the Accounts Receivable efforts of the Sales Department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Minimum five years' experience in media sales.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Experience guiding, directing and motivating subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Experience establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them.
  • Ability to identify the developmental needs of others and to coach, mentor or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with these applications preferred: OSi, Strata, Rentrak, Matrix

Morning Meteorologist

ABC22 & FOX44 serving Vermont, Northern New York, Southern New Hampshire, and Southern Quebec is looking for a personable and reliable Meteorologist for our growing morning show. The ideal candidate will have experience and a passion for forecasting weather in New England for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to viewers. The Morning Meteorologist will bring energy and creativity to four hours of news programming, as you help viewers prepare for the day and week ahead. The Morning Meteorologist will aggressively utilize our weather system to inform viewers during severe weather both on-air and online. Burlington, VT truly experiences four seasons, and is continually ranked among the top markets for quality of life.      

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Produces and presents weather reports for all platforms.
  • Ensures that all weather content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
  • Writes and delivers weather stories in a clear and concise manner.
  • Responds to breaking and/or severe weather events and other urgent newsrooms situations as required.
  • Field report during special events or severe weather as needed.
  • Assists in producing special weather programming and other duties as assigned.
  • Assists in writing, copy editing, researching and coordinating weather programming and other content.
  • Writes web stories detailing the local forecast on a daily basis.
  • Interacts with viewers and users on social media sites.
  • Participates in promotional activities including public appearances.



Requirements & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
  • AMS Seal of Approval or CBM status.
  • Minimum four years' experience in weather reporting or anchoring.
  • Superior on-air presence.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to effectively listen to fully understand problems and communicate with a team to shape a solution.
  • Strong understanding of the field of meteorology and a proven track record of forecasting.
  • Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Flexibility to work any shift.



Physical Demands & Work Environment:

The Morning Meteorologist must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work in close proximity to others, work outdoors occasionally in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. In addition, the Meteorologist must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.

Account Executive (Sales)


Needed Immediately

The Account Executive works within established Sales Department guidelines to increase sales volume with assigned accounts, aggressively seeks new customers for both TV and eMedia business, executes plans and strategies set forth by sales management, maintains awareness of the competition, and maintains visibility in the community.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Implements strategies to consistently grow revenue and exceed revenue goals.
  • Establishes credible relationships with local business community.
  • Makes sales calls on existing and prospective clients.
  • Maintains assigned accounts and develops new accounts.
  • Prepares and delivers sales presentations to clients.
  • Explains to customers how specific types of advertising will help promote their products or services in the most effective way possible.
  • Provides clients with information regarding rates for advertising placement in all media.
  • Develops advertising schedules with clients and station personnel responsible for placing advertising into station media.
  • Works with clients and station personnel to develop advertisements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
