Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Schaumburg, IL; a suburb of Chicago. Home of one of the biggest malls in the country.
Where did you attend school?
I graduated from Western Illinois University in 2006.
Where have you worked previously?
began my career working for an independent minor league baseball team
named the Schaumburg Flyers. My TV career began at WIFR in Rockford, IL
and shifted to KAKE in Wichita, KS. I spent the last year producing a
DIY home repair show called Weekend Workbench for WGN in Chicago.
I worked at Sears when I was 16.
What is the most challenging story you've ever done?
I once drag-raced a radio DJ in a school bus.
Who is your favorite national correspondent?
Ira Glass and the staff at This American Life.
What are your hobbies?
I love playing slow-pitch softball but I don't have a team in VT yet! Anyone need an outfielder?
What are your favorite sports teams?
I'm Chicago all the way. White Sox, Blackhawks, Bulls and Bears.
What is your favorite book?
JUST started and finished the Harry Potter books (a few years late).
They're good but my favorite book is the Bill Veeck autobiography ‘Veeck
as in Wreck.' The former owner of the St. Louis Browns, Cleveland
Indians and Chicago White Sox (and the Milwaukee Brewers while they were
still a minor league franchise) sure can spin a yarn!
What is your favorite food?
Show me a softball-sized burrito and I'll show you an empty plate.
What is one thing you would put on a "bucket list"?
I've never been to Europe. I've listened to Europe…but I'd like to visit the continent before my Final Countdown.
