Ross Lippman is a sports reporter and weekend sports anchor for FOX44 and ABC22. He joined the team in July 2013.
Where did you grow up?
I was born in Plymouth, MA and grew up in Mashpee on Cape Cod.
Where did you attend school?
I attended Emerson College majoring in Broadcast Journalism.
Where have you worked previously?
This is my first job at a news station!
What is the most challenging story you've ever done?
I was very involved in covering Occupy Boston, and the challenge there was finding a story that was different from everyone else’s But witnessing the fallout of the Boston Marathon Bombings was by far the most challenging story to witness and be a part of.
Who is your favorite national correspondent?
It’s always been a toss up between Jim Nantz and Tom Rinaldi. I’d love to make stories just like Rinaldi does, where you show how sports can be more than just a game.
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy golfing and hiking, so I’m of course thrilled to be living in Burlington for that! I try to read up on everything (not just sports). And of course, growing up by the ocean I always love my time at the beach.
What are your favorite sports teams?
Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, Celtics. This is non-negotiable.
What is your favorite book?
For years it has been Into the Wild. But I also love anything written by Chuck Klosterman.
What is your favorite food?
Buffalo Chicken. I also try to eat a peanut butter sandwich every day!
What is one thing you would put on a "bucket list"?
I had always wanted to go hitchhiking, and I can actually say that I’ve done that! I’d one day love to cover a championship team, doesn’t matter the sport.
