Scary moments for one Vermont family after a vehicle crashed into their house on Monday.

Vermont State Police say it happened at around 9:30 p.m. at a home on Route 108 in Bakersfield.

Police say the driver, Michael Fitzgerald, 30, of East Fairfield, is facing numerous charges, including driving with a criminally suspended license, careless and negligent operation, and suspicion of DUI.

FOX44 spoke to the homeowner who says the car crashed right below her kids’ room.

"The Jeep went through my entire laundry room,” said homeowner Dusti Pilon. “That is where all of our clothes are. We have like, five dressers, we have a dog kennel, an elliptical, all my workout stuff is there. It doesn't look like a laundry room anymore and it's demolished."

is due in court next month. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
