A Vermont man who has admitted to kidnapping, sexually assaulting and killing his 12-year-old niece will be sentenced in May.

Michael Jacques, 47, of Randolph, will be sentenced in U.S. District Court in Burlington on May 20.

In a plea agreement last year, Jacques will be sentenced to life without the possibility of parole for the 2008 murder of Brooke Bennett.  The plea also allowed him to avoid the death penalty, which federal prosecutors were seeking.
