Police say speed is a primary factor

Vermont State Police say speed is being considered as the primary factor in a deadly snowmobile crash in Reading.

Police say a preliminary investigation found Stephen Titus, 20, of Reading was driving his skidoo MXZ on VAST Trail 106, when he went off the groomed section and hit multiple trees.

Officials received a call around 9:45 a.m. Monday.

According to a release from police, Titus was not wearing a helmet and died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
