The Burlington Obedience Training Club and the Green Mountain Golden Retriever Club host AKC Agility Trials July 28th through July 31st at the Field House in Shelburne, Vt.
128 different handlers will compete with 186 dogs, for a total of 1,213 runs. Runs are comprised of different obstacles including teeter-totters, jumps, tunnels and more! 12 different states will be represented by handlers and dogs at the competition.
All of the competing dogs are AKC registered, but that does not mean they are all purebred. AKC's "Canine Partners" program allows any dog to be registered to compete with purebred dogs in Agility, Obedience and Rally.
There are four days of trials, running Thursday through Sunday. The start time for Thursday is 10 AM; Friday through Sunday is 8 AM. The public is invited to come out and cheer on the dogs!
