ACLU Lawsuit Against Bennington Police Moves Forward

Bennington, Vermont -

A federal judge is allowing an ACLU lawsuit against Bennington police, to move forward.

 

The lawsuit alleges two officers from the department discriminated against a man because of his race.

The man claims he was profiled during a traffic stop.

 

He was then arrested on a drug offense which was later overturned by the state supreme court.

Bennington police Chief Paul Doucette says racial profiling doesn't happen in his department.
