Amtrak officials says two people who were trespassing on railroad tracks in Wilder were hit by a train Friday.
The Vermonter, which travels between St. Albans and Washington D.C., hit two people at around at around 11:16 a.m., just north of the White River Junction station, Amtrak officials said.
The extent of their injuries and circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown.
The crew and passengers on the train were not injured.
Service resumed just after 2 p.m.
