Ben & Jerry's launches new flavor to honor Bob Marley

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Ben & Jerry’s has a brand new flavor on the shelves honoring reggae singer Bob Marley. “One Love” is the newest banana based flavor and is now available in scoop shops and on shelves across the nation.

The newest ice cream flavor is a banana flavored ice cream, with caramel and cookie swirls, and chocolatey peace signs mixed in.

Ben & Jerry’s says they launched this flavor to have fun while also giving back

“A chunk of the proceeds from this flavor are donated to the One Love Youth Camp in Jamaica, and it helps for kids to deal with adolescence. It’s a struggle for everybody and for kids to be able to use arts, music, peace and love to deal with that, that's what this is all about,” Sean Greenwood of Ben & Jerry’s says.

The Marley inspired flavored was launched May 22 in Los Angeles, when Ziggy Marley, Marley’s youngest son, hosted a concert at the iconic Roxy Theatre.

There is also a brand new album out produced by Ziggy. It’s a reimagined version of Exodus 40, which was released to honor it’s 40th anniversary.

This flavor is a limited edition batch. Ben & Jerry’s says it will be in stores and scoop shops for about four months.
