Burlington Fire Officials: Distressed Swimmer Transported to UVM Medical Center

Burlington, Vt. - The Burlington Fire Department says it has recovered a swimmer in distress at Oakledge Park.

Officials are not identifying the swimmer at this time, but they were transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center.

The call came in around 4:30 p.m. Monday. Crews were searching for almost an hour and a half.

This happened by the platform, about 60 feet offshore. Multiple agencies helped assist in the search, including a border control helicopter.
