Burlington Firefighters 'Fill A Boot' for Muscular Dystrophy

Burlington, VT - Burlington firefighters took to the streets of the Queen City Monday to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The MDA and International Association of Fire Fighters have a sixty year relationship, raising money across the nation.

Money raised will go towards research, and sending children with muscular dystrophy to summer camps. The association serves 260 Vermonters, and 800 in New York's capital region.

The group expects to raise near $5,000 on Monday.

"Across the three days, probably more than ten thousand. With in the state though, typically Vermont contributes around thirty thousand," said Morgan Bernat the fundraising coordinator with the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

If you missed your chance to donate, you will have another chance to help 'fill the boot' in Aaugust and September.
