Burlington Man Sentenced to 7 Years for Selling Heroin

Burlington, Vt. - A Burlington man was sentenced on Thursday to seven years in federal prison after pleading guilty to charges of selling heroin, possession with intent to sell heroin, and possession of firearms in conjunction with a drug trafficking crime, according to the Office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of Vermont.

According to court records, Phillip Wilson, 37, sold heroin to an informant on five separate occasions between February and June of 2016.

Officials say police executed a search warrant at Wilson's home, and found 160 bags of heroin and a revolver.  A second search of a home Wilson visited turned up an additional 160 bags of heroin, $3,333, and two handguns, according to the Office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of Vermont.

Wilson had faced a minimum 5 year sentence and a statutory maximum term of life in prison.
