On Monday night, The Burlington School Board unanimously approved a resolution ratifying a collective bargaining agreement with the Burlington Education Association (BEA).
This agreement will be from September 1, 2016, through August 31, 2017.
Terms of the contract were negotiated with the BEA and tentatively agreed upon by the parties on October 19, 2016.
According to a release from the Burlington School District, the positive outcome was reached as the parties were able to find commonality in a solution that was good for children, teachers and taxpayers, as well as meeting the Board's objective of a contract that is affordable and sustainable.
