Burlington Teachers, School District Fail to Reach Agreement

Burlington, Vt - Members of Burlington Education Association (BEA) say they failed to reach a contract agreement with the school district this week.

A mediator Michael Ryan was called in to help out with the negotiations and released a "fact finder" proposal to offer paths to a settlement.

The report had made recommendations on salary increases and changes to teacher's work days.

The school board's reaction to Ryan's report was met with skepticism, saying there were important factual errors in it.

The teacher's current contract expires on August 31st.
