SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. - It's a test of strength like no other, kind of like cancer.
Approximately fifteen teams raised money for the American Cancer Society by pulling an airplane at the Burlington International Airport Saturday.
The FedEx airplane was attached to a rope and teams pulled the 127 ton jet down the tarmac.
The Pulling For Hope event is in its second year and all the money raised goes to cancer patients in need.
“It funds research cancer patient support programs around the community right here in the hospital at hope lodge," said Jennifer Clark, an event organizer. "So it’s an amazing event. We have brand new teams this year. I mean you can see there’s great costumes everybody’s getting into."
At last check, more than $24,000 were raised for the American Cancer Society.
Clark says next year the goal is $50,000.
