Driver Killed in Crash, Vermont State Police Investigating

Cambridge, Vt. - Vermont State Police say a driver is dead after a single-car crash in Cambridge just before noon Wednesday. The name of the driver is not yet being released pending notification of family.

Officials say police were called to a crash on Pumpkin Harbor road around 11:44 a.m.

A trooper found a 2003 Subaru in a creek bed on all four wheels, according to a release from VSP.

Authorities say the car was found just south of Forge Drive on the east side of Pumpkin Harbor Road down an embankment. Police say the driver was identified by their driver's license and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police tell Local 22 & Local 44 the driver was the only one in the car, but airbags did not deploy, and the driver was not wearing a seat belt properly.

Officials are still investigating the incident.
