A house is badly damaged after a fire in Milton hits the home of one of their own, firefighter Jeremy Couillard.

The Milton Fire Department says the blaze broke out shortly after 2pm on Tuesday.

No one was home at the time and there were no injuries.

"It's emotional, it's very emotional for me as the Chief, and the guys who went in, it's hard, says Milton Fire Chief Don Turner. "We're close, and this is a tough one, and thank god no one got hurt."

The fire is not considered suspicious. It's believed the fire broke out in the garage.
