Barre, Vt. - The gun debate has become a polarizing issue across the country, but one local community is hoping a public forum will help to open up the conversation between both sides.
Vermont Representative, Paul Poirier is hosting the event, to hear what his constituents have to say.
Nearby gun shop, R&L Archery is happy to see people talking.
"If we can keep it as a civil conversation so that both side are polite about it share their facts have their opinions without devolving into name calling and screaming, as so often happens with this topic those people in the middle will be free to make up their own minds," said Jon Sanborn, a manager at R&L Archery.
The forum gets underway tomorrow night at the Barre City Opera House, from 5:30 to 7:30pm.
