MONTPELIER, Vt. - Governor Phil Scott is calling for a special session and he wants to iron out a budget agreement before hand.
Scott sent a letter to the House Speaker, and Senate President Pro Tem Tim Ashe Tuesday afternoon.
The Governor says he wants the special session to start May 23, he wants it wrapped up within two days.
Scott says they're close to an agreement.
He wants to prevent an unnecessary 33 million dollar property tax increase saying he won't introduce anything else during that time and wants others to commit to the same.
Governor Scott wants a state budget in place by July first.
