Governor Scott Thanks Military and Veterans Ahead of Memorial Day

Montpelier, Vermont -

While thousands of Vermonters will be basking in a three-day weekend, the real meaning of the day isn’t one of celebration, rather of remembrance.

The sentiment isn’t lost on Governor Phil Scott who said, “As we celebrate and enjoy this Memorial Day weekend across Vermont, I hope we all stop to appreciate and remember those who have given their lives in service to our country.” In a statement, the governor thanked all active military members, veterans and their families. “The sacrifices made for our freedom should never be taken for granted, and on Memorial Day and every day, we honor and thank you.” Said Scott

Governor Scott will attend a Memorial Day Wreath Laying Service at Veterans Memorial Park in Essex.
