Cheshire County, N.H. - On Wednesday afternoon, Massachusetts native Jordyn Trapilo, 18, lost her footing while climbing down Mt. Monadnock's White Dot trail with friends, according to the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.
Officials say Trapilo lost her footing around 2:00 p.m. and hurt her lower leg. Trapilo could not continue the hike and had to be carried down the mountain by Mt. Monadnock Park personnel and volunteers.
Trapilo was transported to Monadknock Community Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, according to a release from the Department.
Conservation Officers want to remind the public that most falls and injuries occur on the descent of a trail, and hiking boots and poles can help prevent injuries.
