Hundreds of Police Citations Issued in Vermont "Safety Corridors"

If you don’t check your speed then you may end up getting one of the hundreds of speeding tickets that are being handed out by police in so-called safety corridors.

Hundreds of speeding tickets have been issued by police patrolling the "safety corridors" along Interstate 89 and Interstate 91.

V-Trans signs are set up in four of the busiest parts of the highways.

Vermont State Police say in the past week they've issued more than 300 speeding violations, six work zone violations and five for using electronic devices while driving.

Police have stepped up enforcement in the areas to include South Burlington, Colchester

Berlin and Waterbury.

The interchange at Hartford and exits one through three on I-91 near Brattleboro.
