Investigation into deadly crash in Johnson; One driver arrested

Johnson, Vt. - The Lamoille County Sheriff's Department is investigating a deadly crash on Route 15 in Johnson Wednesday evening.

Police were called around 6:40 to a three-car crash in the area of Nadeau's Sand and Gravel, according to a release from the Lamoille Co. Sheriff's dept.

Police say 27-year old Shelley Stevenson was traveling east when she ran into 59-year-old Eileen Obrien's vehicle traveling west. O'brien was trapped inside her vehicle, and police say she died on scene.

The Sheriff's dept said Stevenson was brought to Copley Hospital for evaluation, and was later arrested for suspicion of DUI. She was lodge at the North East Regional Correctional Center for lack of bail.

Vermont State Police Crash Reconstruction Team responded and assisted with the investigation of the crash scene. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Sheriff's Department at (802)-888-3502.
