Irasburg Resident Dies in ATV Crash

Lowell, Vt. - According to Vermont State Police, an Irasburg resident died in an ATV crash on Irish Hill Road in Lowell Saturday evening.

State Police responded around 7:00 p.m. and found that 22 year old Nicholas Miller was operating the ATV at a high rate of speed. The ATV traveled through grass for about 50 yards before hitting several trees in an embankment.

According to Police, Miller was not wearing a seatbelt or helmet and was ejected from the ATV. A passenger was also riding with Miller, but was wearing a seatbelt.

Miller was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger was transported to North County Hospital with minor injuries.

Police said the investigation is on-going, but speed and alcohol appear to be contributing factors.
