K-12 Students Explore the World of STEM

BURLINGTON, Vt. - K -12 students shared their engineering and creative projects at UVM.

Saturday afternoon, UVM hosted Vermont's first statewide K-12 'Maker Faire.'

People explored different exhibits and workshops to cheer on students participating in the 'Aiken/TASC Engineering Challenge.'

It was also a way for students to learn and create.

"Really interested in supporting educators and families, and students in this state to participate in STEM education at a young age so that they really feel empowered to pursue perhaps a STEM degree," said Jenn Karson, Director of the Fab Lab at UVM College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences.

Students received prizes for 'Best Performance' and for 'Best Engineering Presentation.'
