Vermont State Police: Kidnapping Suspect Accused of Trying to get Victim to Change Their Statement

Springfield, Vt. - A New Hampshire man, accused of kidnapping a teenager and bringing them across state lines to Vermont to have sex, is now accused of obstruction of justice and violating conditions of release, according to Vermont State Police.

Officials say Kurt Carpentino, 33, of Manchester, NH, made several attempts to contact the victim through third parties, in an attempt to convince them to change their initial statement about the incident.

Authorities say Carpentino is already being held without bail.

Carpentino is scheduled to be in Vermont Superior Court in Windham County Monday, June 5, to answer to the new charges.
