Senator Patrick Leahy, Back in Vermont, Talks About Comey Testimony

Winooski, VT - Senator Patrick Leahy called former FBI Director James Comey's testimony “quite extraordinary”.
The senior senator from Vermont was in Winooski Friday afternoon.

RAW Interview - Part 1



He says he fails to understand why Attorney General Jeff Sessions would have left the room when asked to do so by the President, during a meeting with Comey.
The senator also says the Russia investigation parallels Watergate, but is very different and much more serious. "Here we are talking about a country…Russia trying to undermine us and i hope we don't lose sight of that because if that becomes the norm, America's democracy that you and i and all of us know is going to be greatly diminished," Senator Leahy told Local 22/Local 44.
Leahy is the vice chair of the appropriations committee, which Sessions is expected to testify before, next week.
Leahy says he plans to question the Attorney General.
