The Lebanon Police Department arrested a man they say lead them on a motor vehicle pursuit Wednesday night.

The pursuit happened at around 8 p.m.

Police say Patrick Roland, 53, of Lebanon, refused to stop for a motor vehicle violation and continued driving east on Mechanic Street at high speeds.

Roland continued east on Bank Street extension where police say he lost control of his vehicle and went off the road. The vehicle went over an embankment above the Mascoma River and rested against several trees.

Roland was removed from the vehicle by Lebanon Fire and police personnel. He was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

Roland is charged with driving while intoxicated, subsequent offense, and disobeying a police officer.

He was later released on his own recognizance. Roland is scheduled to appear in court in March.
