Metal shavings risk prompts ground turkey recall

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - More than 38,000 pounds of ground turkey sold at grocery stores including ALDI markets are being recalled because of concerns that metal shavings may be in the meat.

The Prestage Foods white Styrofoam trays of ground turkey have a clear plastic film covering, and they’re marked with the number P-2-2-0-0-0.

The items were shipped to distribution centers in nine states, including New York.

The USDA says the risk is low, and so far there have been no reports of injury or illness.

If you bought this ground turkey, you should throw it away or return it to the store.
