46th Anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr. Assassination

Friday marks the 46th anniversary of the assassination of civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.

On April 4th, 1968, King was struck by a single bullet while standing on the balcony of a Tennessee motel. He later died at the hospital.

An escaped convict, James Earl Ray, was found guilty of the murder.

He died in prison in 1998.
