BOSTON - A memorial of messages honoring the Boston Marathon victims and survivors is now on display.

The messages were written in the days following the bombings. They were scribbled on thousands of shoes, notes, t-shirts, and cards left in Copley Square as the city grieved and began to heal.

Those items are now part of an exhibit that opened Monday at the Boston Public Library.

"The 'Dear Boston' exhibition gives all of us the opportunity to remember, reflect and come together as we approach the one-year anniversary of last year's marathon," Boston Public Library President Amy Ryan said.

The April 15th double bombings killed three people and injured at least 264.

This year's marathon is scheduled for April 21st and organizers say will have increased security.
