Foley was abducted while reporting in northern Syria in November 2012. He was not heard from again until the video of his execution was released.

The New Hampshire community is rallying around his mother and father.

"We need the courage and the prayers now to continue without him. He was an inspiration for us and so many others. So, we miss his courage, his love, his determination, his laugh, his smile," John Foley, James' Father, said.

"He brought so much joy to this family," Diane Foley, James' Mother, said.

President Obama addressed the family saying America is praying for them.
