A new report by Wallethub ranked the best and worst states for working moms.
The report ranked states on the following nine metrics - day care quality rankings (weight 1); child care costs, adjusted for the median woman's salary (weight: 1); access to pediatric services. number of pediatricians per 100,000 residents (weight: 1); public school quality (weight 1) factored into the overall child care ranking. Gender pay gap, women's earnings as a percentage of men's (weight: 1); ratio of female to male executives (weight: 1) factored into the overall professional opportunities rankings. Parental leave policy score (weight: 1); length of average woman's workday (weight: 0.5); and average commute time (weight: 0.5) all factored into the overall work-life balance ranking.
