CareerCast ranked the top 200 jobs in 2014 in a new report.

According to CareerCast, the 2014 Jobs Rated Report measured different careers on a variety of metrics. Those metrics include income, work environment, stress, and hiring outlook.

How the metrics factored into the overall rankings:
  • Income: Based on mid-level incomes.
  • Work Environment: Based on physical and emotional components. The greater number of points a job scores, the worse the job ranks.
  • Stress: Based on 11 factors. Jobs scored higher with greater physical demands, meaning higher levels of stress. Higher numbers =  higher levels of stress.
  • Hiring Outlook: Factors employment growth, income growth potential, and unemployment for that job. Higher scores indicate a more promising outlook than lower scores.
