A new report ranked the well-being of states and communities across the country. 

The Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index ranked states and communities on 6 metrics; life evaluation, emotional health, work environment, physical health, healthy behaviors, and basic access. States and communities were ranked on each metric and overall. 

Click on a state on the map below to see its overall ranking and ranking among the above metrics. States highlighted in blue had the best overall well-being. States highlighted in red had the worst overall well-being.

  4. Minnesota
  5. Montana

  7. Colorado
  8. Hawaii
  9. Washington
  10. Iowa
