The U.S. Census Bureau released a report on the number of people living in poverty across the United States.

The Census Bureau says in 2010, approximately 14.9 percent of the total U.S. population lived in poverty.

Data for the 2010 estimates were based on the 2008–2012 5-year American Community Survey (ACS).
