According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recall affects Recaro ProSport model 385 manufactured from June 16, 2010 through January 31, 2013.
When the affected car seats are installed with the latch lower anchors, without the top tether, the child's head can move excessively, increasing the risk of injury.
Recaro is notifying registered owners and will provide a new label to put over the information label. According to NHTSA, the new information instructs parents to discontinue using the latch system once the child reaches 40 pounds.
Owners can contact Recaro at 1-888-973-2276 with questions and concerns.
