Ways to Make Most of Your Down Time at the Airport
By Joe Gullo
We all know how stressful air travel can be with long lines, unexpected delays, and seemingly fewer perks on our favorite airlines. Here's what you can do to make the most of your down time at the airport.
If you're at the airport, it's a safe bet that you're feeling a little bit anxious about baggage, finding the gate, and where you'll be sitting on the plane, or weary about a long flight ahead. While there are some people who like to get there at the last minute, others like a little time to catch their breath. Inc. Magazine offers some tips to help make the best of any downtime you may have.
First, we all hate fighting for power outlets, buying the expensive food and $5 bottles of water but one thing you can consider is getting a membership to an airport lounge.
You can purchase one for say, the Delta Sky Club, United Club, if you fly a lot.
There are also day passes available for not too much and many have wi-fi, magazines, complimentary snacks and drinks.
Something to consider if your flight gets delayed or if you have a long layover.
This may seem simple, but make sure you take a deep breath. It will help relax you and in fact, some airports like San Francisco, Dallas, Burlington, and Raleigh, to name a few, have spaces where you can even roll out your yoga mat.
Lastly, if you have extra time to kill, some airports now have places where you can get a massage or manicure and pedicure.
A few small ideas to help you take a little break from the craziness travel brings.
