New Hampshire Man Arrested for Attempted Sexual Assault

Lebanon, NH - Lebanon police say a man has been charged with attempted sexual assault after he talked with what he thought was a 15-year-old girl on social media.

Officials say Mark Hewes, 56, of Piermont, talked with police, who were posing as a teenage girl, on social media.  Police say it was sexual in nature, and Hewes arrived in a parking lot at a store to meet what he thought was a 15-year-old girl for sex.

Hewes was arrested and charged with attempted sexual assault and certain use of computer services prohibited.

Authorities say bail was set at $20,000, and Hewes was taken to Grafton County House of Corrections ahead of his arraignment on Friday.
