Be sure when you're shoveling out Friday morning to clear out building exits and fire hydrants.

You'll want fire hydrants to be clear of snow and ice by at least three feet in all directions. You should also shovel out a two foot path leading to it.

This will allow the fire department to quickly and easily access them during an emergency. Just think, it could save your home.
