WASHINGTON - Slowly but surely, prices at the gas pump are creeping downward. You may have noticed if you filled up recently.

According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular in the U.S. is $3.28.  Just a month ago, prices were closer to $3.35.

While they are dropping, prices in our area are a little bit higher than the national average.

In Vermont, customers are paying $3.49, that's about 6 cents less than a month ago.  It's currently around $3.63 in New York, down from $3.69.

The bargains can be found in New Hampshire, where a gallon of regular is about $3.35 right now, down 7 cents from December.
