The 2014 County Health Rankings & Roadmaps were released Wednesday by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation program.
A press release says the rankings allow each state to see how its counties compare on 29 factors that impact health, including smoking, high school graduation rates, unemployment, physical inactivity, and access to healthy foods.
The report ranked counties based on health outcomes and health factors. Health Outcomes is based on equal weighting of length and quality of life. Health factors is based on weighted scores for health behaviors, clinical care, social and economic factors, and the physical environment.
