CONCORD, N.H. - New Hampshire Governor Maggie Hassan (D) gave her first State of the State address Thursday.

She touched upon many needs that the state has, including updating bridges and roads to make travel easier for tourists and businesses. Job growth and strengthening the state's economy were mentioned a lot throughout her list of goals.

In order to do that, Hassan said you have to start early.

"We need to reach our students at a young age and help them understand that they can stay in New Hampshire, find jobs here that are interesting and exciting, and build careers that will allow them to support their families and climb the ladder of opportunity," Hassan said.

The governor announced she's forming a task force to help modernize the way science, technology, engineering and math are taught at schools.
