CONCORD, N.H. - New Hampshire lawmakers voted against a bill allowing law enforcement to use license plate readers.

The bill stated that law enforcement could scan license plates and match them against databases to see if a vehicle is stolen, an individual is wanted for a crime, or to help find an endangered person.

The bill failed by a 97-250 vote.
