CONCORD, N.H. - The New Hampshire House passed a bill that will expand healthcare access for 50,000 residents.
A press release says the bill is a compromise plan to utilize federal Medicaid Expansion dollars to fund a program of privately delivered health care to working men and women across the state.
"This access will strengthen their families, our communities, and our state. The program and
the utilization of federal dollars will improve our healthcare system, provide jobs and reduce uncompensated care costs,” House Speaker Terie Norelli (D-Portsmouth) said.
The legislation passed the House by a 202-132.
The bill now heads to Governor Maggie Hassan's desk.
