Following the completion of the race, at around 6:10 p.m. Sunday, police say a Trooper attempted to stop a red pick-up truck operated by Damian Biron, 21, of North Sutton, N.H.
Biron failed to stop, and steered towards the Trooper who had to move out of the way.
Another Trooper, who was directing traffic near the entrance of the New Hampshire Motor Speedway, also directed the vehicle to stop. Instead of complying, police say the pick-up struck that Trooper with its front grill. Police say the Trooper was struck two more times before Biron and his two occupants sped away, striking a vehicle in the process.
Neither the Trooper, nor the occupants of the other car, were injured.
Biron then fled south on Route 106, according to police. Officials say Biron struck another vehicle a short distance down the road. The vehicle that was hit came to rest 20 feet off the road, but no one injured.
Police say Biron then attempted to flee on foot, but was eventually arrested.
Biron faces several charges, including D.U.I, 2 counts of felony reckless conduct, and 3 counts of simple assault.
He is set to be arraigned Monday morning in Concord Circuit Court.
