New York State Police: Two North Country Men Arrested for Selling Drugs

NEW YORK - New York State Police announced on Wednesday two people were arrested for selling drugs in Clinton County after a long-term investigation.

Officials say the arrests were made on September 14 on a warrant.

Authorities say Jeremy Monette, 28, of Champlain, was arrested for two counts of selling methamphetamine, and two counts of possession of meth.  At the time of his arrest, police say Monette had cocaine, heroin, meth and marijuana.

Monette will be in court for possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana on Thursday, according to police. He was already arraigned on charges of selling and possessing meth, and was remanded to Clinton County Jail on $40,000 bond, he will be back in court on October 23 for these charges.

Officials say Shawn Dapo, 22, of Mooers, was arrested for two counts of selling and two counts of possession of oxymorphone and heroin.  When he was arrested, police say Dapo had marijuana.

Dapo is scheduled to be in court for the marijuana charge on Thursday.  Authorities say he was arraigned on charges of selling and possessing drugs on September 14, and was released on pre-trial conditions, he will be back in court on October 23.
