New York: Structure Fire in Cumberland Head

Cumberland Head, N.Y. - A Cumberland Head home across from Brandell Drive went up in flames on Wednesday morning.

According to the Cumberland Head Assistant Fire Chief, the call came in from someone who saw the fire from the ferry.

Fire officials say the flames have been knocked down, and they don't believe anyone was home at the time.

The roof of the home is gone, only the walls are left.  Officials say the wind coming off Lake Champlain made it challenging for the firefighters to put out the fire.

Cumberland Head, District 3, Beekmantown and the City of Plattsburgh Fire Departments all responded to the fire.
