ALBANY, N.Y. - The state Board of Regents passed several recommendations on changes to Common Core standards.

Those recommendations came from a work group, in charge of figuring out the best way to help everyone adjust to Common Core standards.

It wasn't smooth sailing for all ideas. Teacher and principal evaluations were put on the back-burner. Under the recommendation, educators would be punished if students score poorly on Common Core based exams.

Instead the board will send the suggestion back for public comment, and then take up the matter again in April.
